Autumn in Shipley Country Park

Close-up photo of brown and greenish crispy leaves

It doesn't get much better than kicking through rusty, golden leaves on a magical autumn morning! With 700 acres of attractive and varied landscape, including over 20 miles of quiet paths, a reservoir, ponds, nature reserves and wood and parkland, Shipley Country Park is a great spot for exploring and getting out in nature. We're really lucky to have such a beautiful spot just down the lane from us.

We parked in the Mapperley Reservoir car park (£1.30 for 2 hours) and had a lovely walk around the reservoir and a little stroll in Mapperley Wood Nature Reserve. We can recommend a visit, followed by a hot coffee, a slice of pie and a spot of shopping at the Bottle Kiln of course!
