Five Cup Award & Best Filter Coffee in the UK!

We are the proud winners of the 'Best Filter Coffee' in the UK and the coveted 'Five Cup Award' - the highest accreditation given by the Beverage Standards Accreditation!

The Beverage Standards Association (BSA) Awards Ceremony was held at London’s Fulham Palace on Monday 14 October. Dame Kelly Holmes was the guest of honour at the ceremony and presented the awards.

The reception started by sipping champagne in the great hall, which was lit by candles and very impressive. It was brilliant to catch up with old friends in the industry, and to meet new people. Everyone is so friendly and supportive and cheer each other on. Dame Kelly Holmes was really lovely and stayed around to chat to everyone.

BSA five cup winners

Judging for the awards is undertaken by anonymous BSA members, trained experts providing accurate and impartial assessments. They mark the drinks based on taste, temperature and presentation over a number of visits in the months prior to the awards. Instead of stars, the BSA use cup rankings which are awarded to different outlets, five being the maximum. As with the famous Michelin stars, to receive any of these 'cup' awards is fantastic for people in the hot drinks industry.

All our café staff share an enthusiasm for coffee and are trained to prepare the drinks to high standards. We're thrilled to be recognised for our efforts and dedication. Receiving the awards has given us a real boost, many thanks to the BSA, and well done to all our team!

Best Filter Coffee - New Season Kenya

We always have seasonal artisan coffees in the café which are selected for their distinctive and special taste. Our 'New Season Kenya' beans were used for the filter coffee for which we won the award. It has a juicy grapefruit flavour, enveloping soft blackcurrant, and leaves the tongue tingling as pink grapefruit does! Come and try this award-winning coffee while it lasts! Or pick up a bag of freshly roasted beans to enjoy at home; we can grind them for you. New Season Kenya coffee beans, £5.95 per 250g bag.
